Photography
Sam has been an avid photographer since he received his first "Disc" camera in the early-80's, eventually moving on to a trusty Canon AE-1 he used throughout his teens and twenties, developing his own black and white film and making his own enlargements.
With the dSLR boom of the early 2000's, Sam quickly mastered digital photography, becoming an authority on RAW workflow, helping others get the most out of the rather limited early CCD and CMOS sensors. As a member of the early (private) Beta team for Adobe Lightroom, Sam was able to introduce a completely new business model to the world of small-scale sports photography, with system that allowed him to shoot thousands of photos in a weekend while providing customers a quick way to find the photos that most interest them on an easy to use "kiosk" where they could purchase and receive prints onsite in a matter of minutes.
With the arrival of Sam's son in 2009 he stopped shooting events "semi-professionally" and now mostly shoots for fun. After years of shooting with professional gear from both Canon and Nikon, he's now a happy user of the Micro Four Thirds system, primarily shooting with an Olympus E-M5.
Like most photographers, Sam can be found on Flickr.
